Trick or Treating Safety

Halloween is one of a child's favorite "Holidays", they get a bunch of candy and go walking with their friends door to door in their neighborhood. Here are 7 Safety Tips to help keep you and child safe this Halloween

1. Plan a route to take with your children, Trick-or-treating could take you several streets away from your house, which can cause sore legs and a lot of frustration. Avoid long paths by mapping out a route before leaving the house. Stick to paths that you and your child are familiar with to avoid getting lost.

2. Wear comfortable shoes, Make sure you and your children are in comfortable, well-fitting shoes. Girls in dresses should avoid heels, and all shoelaces should be double-tied to avoid tripping in the dark.

3. As kids are trick or treating, the sky gets darker. Make sure your children stay well lit so people can see them at night.
4. Make sure costumes are a reasonable length, you dont want your children tripping over their outfits as their running house to house.

5. Avoid wearing masks as it has a tendency to cause breathing issues, not enough air gets in to your mask.

6. Use flexible props for your children's costumes, as they can result in accidents if they hit someone with it while role playing!

7. After the night is through, make sure to check your children's candy out, throw any candy away that is not in a wrapper or has dirt on it!

I hope some of these help you and your family have a safer Halloween!
