Safety tips for the Fourth of July!

Our goals as realtors is to keep your family safe during the moving process and after. We always want you to be safe! So here are some helpful tips, to help celebrate this fourth of July in a safe manor!

• Be a safe Swimmer. Water related sports and fireworks are the two biggest pastimes for the Fourth of July, and these are both connected to numerous deaths and injuries each year!
•  Keep kids away from fireworks at all times. Attending organized displays of fireworks is always safer then putting on your shows!
• Use Alcohol safely and moderately. Always have a designated driver during the holidays!
• Before heading out on the boat this holiday, always go over the safe boat practices with your family and friends.
• When having food, always cover them up to prevent bees and other bugs from attending your party as well.
• Always apply sunscreen before and during an outside party. Ultraviolet rays are very harmful to the human skin when its not protected properly.
• protect yourself from tick-borne diseases. Apply bug repellent that has DEET in it. But do not apply DEET to a child's skin whatsoever.
• Always drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. This will help prevent any type of heat related illnesses.
• Always keep children away from campfires and grills.
• Never leave your food sitting outside for a long period of time, you are basically inviting airborne food illnesses to enter your food.
• Make sure that the medications you are taking allow you to go in the sun, if they don't, always stay in a shaded area!

By following a couple of these tips for this holiday weekend, you can prevent a serious accident from happening. Always keep an eye on the young ones this weekend to which they are the most vulnerable to mostly everything on this list.
